We just wanted the assignment of a seat. When we got closer to the date we were told that we would get a seat assignment at check in. At check in we were told we would get a seat assignment at the airport. At the airport we were told we would get a seat assignment at the GATE! At the GATE the attendant had difficulty finding our seats and finally found them with the help of another attendant. This adding extreme stress to a trip that was planned in September and should have been a pleasureable experience. Our seats were not together and we then had to go on the plane and ask other travelers to change their seats in order to be near each other. This was not our job! We ended up near each other but not together. Then when we arrived in Paris we noticed that our suitcases had been tagged STAND BY!!!!!! We were glad that we did not see that at the Philadelphia airport because it would have added even more stress to a long anticipated pleasure trip to Paris. Next time we will make sure that the tickets we are purchasing (FINNAIR) have nothing to do with American Airlines."

Our family of 4 got scattered all over; the agent was not at all helpful -- they seemed bitter about their working condition and the fact that they had to deal with dissatisfied customers. I talked to the supervisor and we were finally able to sit together just because a party of 4 did not show up. I am not at all happy with the AA for their stupid rule."

Due to this experience, I would like to have been notified ahead of time of the expected charges as it made me uneasy before a long flight."

My first flight was with American Airlines, they gave me a boarding pass, however for my leg with British Airways, I had to go get ANOTHER boarding pass to board the flight. This airline was very inconvenient and I felt scammed booking with them. I would not recommend this airline to anyone!"

Cons: "Trying to get through airport security was an unorganized clown show with them herding groups of passengers back and forth between airport terminals resulting in many people almost missing their flights because the lines just weren't moving. Once on the airplane, the international flight had TVs in the ceiling in the row playing one in-flight movie (what is this 1995?). American is such a terrible airline. The old US airways, Lufthansa, and British Airways, are way better international flights every time I've flown with them. Personal entertainment at your seat for each flight (i thought this was standard on all international flights in the past like 10 years) and more food and drinks throughout the flight."

The worst part was they sent me to Boston after that I didn't get to Boston until 1:50 am and they did not compensate with hotel or anything while my flight to London was not until 8:00 am the next morning. Oh and then when I finally got to London, my bag is lost and they told me I'd have it by tomorrow and I still do not have my bag and have called and they said they can't tell me anything."

We spent the night on hard chairs in the airport when we could have been re-booked on a flight out that night if they had been at all organized and efficient."

He kept us informed of the possibility that they might overshoot the runway and might have to try a second approach (although that didn't hsppen). The touchdown was gentler than most flights I've been on when the weather conditions were perfect."

Cons: "British airways booked us on aer lingus from Dublin to LAX. Worst international flight I've ever been on. The flight attendants were rude. There was trash laying all over the floor, only once did the flight crew pick up litter from customers on the 10 hour flight. My husbands entertainment unit would not work, after we paid $90 each for an 'upgrade'. Also, somehow British Airways didn't communicate I was Gluten free so I had no meals or snacks for the flight. I would not recommend using Aer Lingus even if BA books this leg as part of an overall travel."

Pros: "There was a special needs boy that sat behind me and he had some issues (long flight, understandable) and the crew were AMAZING with him. Not everyone has common or even human decency. These people were rad, and it was lovely to see."

Cons: "I paid extra for exit row seating, but what they didn't tell me was that the flight attendant seat was facing ours, so much for leg room. The actual placement of the seats were aisle row and middle row-so neither of us had a window to look out of or wall to lean against, no overhead lighting or air vent either. Can you say "rip-off?" My husband, who is tall and broad shoulder was constantly being knocked around by the flight attendants and carts. This flight was miserable. I guess I should be thankful for the hour plus delay in departure."

There were no monitors on the seat backs and no choice of entertainment, only monitors hanging from the ceiling. I suppose the airline assumes, probably correctly, that these days everybody has their own entertainment on laptop or tablet. The problem here, though, was that there were no charging plugs at the seats, so you’d better have a full battery when you get on and hope it lasts. Of course, I could have just read the inflight magazine, except that my reading light was broken. Food was decent for airline food."

Flight attendants came through once with the beverage cart, but only asked the person at the end of our row if he wanted anything. He asked for juice assumed it would be complimentary but it wasn't. They offered to get him a water. The flight attendants did not offer me or the man next to me anything at all. Everyone knows that air travel is dehydrating - I can't believe BA doesn't give provide complimentary water and juice."

Pros: "The personnel were most helpful, pleasant, and reassuring when I discovered I had left something on the plane. It was found and returned to me quite promptly and my continued flight was rebooked with the minimum of fuss (and embarrassment). Everyone was wonderful."

Cons: "I am not a seasoned traveller. Checking for a small item (such as a passport) in the overhead compartment was not possible."

Cons: "Flight attendant named IGOR skipped me when serving drinks and food. But then again when he he offered coffee, he again skipped my wife who was beside me. When I asked for coffee for my wife and that then again skipped us, he just responded, sarcastically, "Really?, really?" What a fool!"

Cons: "The aircraft (flight operated by American Airlines) was so old that in Economy class there weren't individual screens on the back of the front seat. I haven't seen anything like that since the 1990s! There was no USP or outlet to charge phones or ipads so i couldn't even use my entertainment. Passengers should be informed in advance or given a significant discount. Very disappointed."

Pros: "Crew was good, attentive, helpful, eager to accommodate. The tea cart sped past without alerting anybody as to what it was or that it wasn't going to come back but moments later another crew member came by and was very quick to return with a tea for me, which was nice of them. Other flight operators have had somewhat limited entertainment options, I was amazed by the range available."

Cons: "I was a little disappointed that in the video options, while it had he show Legion (something I'd been recommended by a friend recently), it was only the first 4 episodes instead of the complete 8, leaving a cliffhanger point in the story. Which was a bit of a shame."

It's pretty much standard across carriers now to have at least internet access and a portable device entertainment option. I also did not enjoy paying for even the most basic beverages on the flight. Coffee, tea, and soft drinks should be included. You'll save a pound, but lose a customer."

My problem is not only the wait once we land, but most improtsntly that the bags are beat up in the journey. Indeed, my carry-on arrived with several scratches on the plastic edges as well as some signs of worn on the textile. Because of this carry-on baggage size restrictions, I will not fly TAP airlines again (unless I can travel with my hand purse only)."

We were charged 462.00 extra to take the next flight out 3hours later. We were charged twice for the same flight from Portugal to Rome. It was not our fault that we could not connect in Portugal, every other airlines would make resonable accommodations with out any extra charge. We both feel cheated by tap airlines and it made our vacation very stressful trying to resolve the double charge. It has not been resolved as of yet and we our very disappointed on how we were treated. can’t get anything other than the blame being passed around."

Cons: "My wife and I arrived to the airport for our honeymoon extremely excited. We had been saving for our trip to Italy for months, and we were finally going to get things started. Everything fell apart when we went to check in and we were told that my wife couldn’t use her ticket because she had changed her last name. We were told that there was no way that the name on the ticket could be changed because of TSA regulations. Of course, we were also told that we could have changed the name had we purchased a more expensive ticket. In other words, we were lied to and told the issue was regulation, when really they wouldn’t help us because we couldn’t afford a more expensive ticket. The only help we were given was the pleasure of paying over $1,500 more to get my wife on the flight. I am in the process of trying to get this refunded, but as of now we have paid twice for my wife to fly, and neither ticket has been refunded. We may have accidentally broken a rule, but the only function that rule seems to have is to make us pay twice for the same seat. As of now, I would never fly this airline again, and I would warn everyone away from it. I will update this post if TAP does the right thing by two honeymooners."

There was an incessant, loud high-pitched buzzing noise for the entire duration of the flight (we were seated in the very back row so it was particularly loud for us, but others further up said it was bad for them too). Also, we had straight turbulence for over two hours. I've never gotten sick on a plane before, and my husband never gets motion sickness, but we both threw up (and I think several others did, too). I don't blame the crew for any of this, as I know most, if not all, of it was out of their control. However, I would be very nervous to flight TAP again due to this experience."

Boarding began 20 min late and then we had to stand on the boarding ramp for another 20 min while the crew finished "cleaning" the aircraft."

Announcements are not heard in headphones, which in emergency situations could be dangerous. Noise reducing headphones supplier are effective in the noise reduction function, but not high quality audio resolution, with some dialogue intelligible. Business class seat wasn't a full recline as are those of most competitors, but it was comfortable. I didn't see any snack offerings that most other airlines have available between meals."
